A new sensor for La Gilberta
Today we installed the Mindsets UK SEP seismometer which will replace the S13 sensor in our educational seismic station.
This horizontal seismometer uses electromagnetic induction to detect ground motion (velocity) and eddy currents to damp oscillations. It is based on the Lehman Seismometer Pendulum, a rotational system slightly tilted from vertical, also called garden gate configuration. The angle 
Our seismometer is configured to work with a period of about 10 s. We are now testing it in a temporary location. We look forward to see some signals!
